    Information below is subject to minor change.

    *Senior Award honorees will be recognized in conjunction with graduation ceremonies.

  • How many tickets will our family receive to attend graduation?

    In order to ensure safety for all graduates, attendees, and TCS employees, six (6) graduation tickets will be issued per family.

  • How will tickets and masks be distributed to students?

    Tickets will be distributed at graduation practice on May 24.  Commemorative masks for the ceremony will be distributed to students when they gather at 6:00 pm on May 25th prior to the ceremony.

  • If a graduate, friend or family member will not be attending, will there be other options for them to view it?

    The graduation ceremonies will be live-streamed by Trussville Tribune at https://www.trussvilletribune.com/trib-tv/ and Trussville Tribune's Facebook page.

    All 2021 graduate names will be called out, even if they cannot attend.

  • If my family isn't going to use all six tickets, may we given them to someone else?

    Tickets have been assigned so that up to six family members may sit together. If six members of your family will not be coming, those seats/tickets should not be given to others outside your family for safety reasons related to COVID-19.

  • Will there be a graduation practice?

    Yes!  Graduates should gather (wearing a mask) at the stadium complex on the field by 2:00 pm on Monday, May 24th.  Practice will be under an hour and graduates will receive their graduation tickets and a popsicle at the end of practice.

  • Is there a graduation/stadium diagram?

  • What time will the stadium gates open for attendees?

    The stadium gates will open at 6:00 pm for the 7:00 pm graduation ceremony.

  • Where should we park?

    Parents are encouraged to drop off their graduate at the multipurpose/tailgating field behind the Civic Center at the scoreboard end of the stadium.  Graduates driving themselves can park in the stadium or field house lots.  Additional parking for attendees is available at the high school. 

  • Will family group seating sections be marked?

    The stadium will have family group seating sections marked with space between seating sections.  Both the home and visitor stands will be used.  Your graduate will be able to share with you which side he/she will process from so that you can plan to sit on that side.

  • Will there be wheelchair access and handicap seating?

    Yes, wheelchair access and handicap seating are available.  Any entrance may be used.  Guests must provide their own wheelchairs and assistance.  Stadium ushers will be present to guide handicapped guests to reserved handicap seating. 

  • Will concessions be available?

    Concession stands will not be open and water fountains will be closed.  Please feel free to bring your own bottled water.

  • Will family members be allowed to enter the field area after the ceremony?

    No.  Graduates will proceed from the field area outside the gates to meet their friends and families.

  • In case of poor weather, what is the plan?

    If poor weather dictates a cancellation on Tuesday May 25th, graduation will be held on Wednesday May 26th at the same time in the stadium. 

  • What are the COVID-19 precautions and protocols for senior graduates and visitors?

    COVID-19 Precautions and Protocols for Senior Graduates and Visitors

     

    In order to protect the health and wellbeing of all, the protocol outlined below is based on the following:

    • A review of screening protocols from multiple agencies
    • Recommendations by the CDC and the Jefferson County Health Department
    • A literature review of the most current common signs and symptoms of COVID-19

     

    Persons with the following conditions are strongly advised by the Jefferson County Health Department to consider NOT attending the ceremony,  but instead, watch the ceremony via live stream.

    • High blood pressure
    • Obesity
    • Chronic Lung disease
    • Asthma
    • Diabetes
    • Any other chronic health condition that compromises your immune system

     

    For those planning to attend, please answer the following questions on the the day of the ceremony:

     

    “YES or NO” regarding the last 14 days, have you had any of the following:

     

    • A new fever (100.4°F or higher), or a sense of having a fever?
    • A new cough that you cannot attribute to another health condition?
    • New shortness of breath that you cannot attribute to another health condition?
    • A new sore throat that you cannot attribute to another health condition?
    • New muscle aches (myalgias) that you cannot attribute to another health condition, or that may have been caused by a specific activity (such as physical exercise)?
    • New loss of the sense of smell that cannot be attributed to another health condition or incident?
    • An exposure to the COVID-19 virus?

     

    If a graduate or visitor answers YES to any of the questions, they should not attend the ceremony.

     

    Graduates and visitors answering NO to ALL of the above questions may attend the ceremony using the following guidelines:

     

    • Under the direction of the Jefferson County Department of Health, face masks will be required when entering this event. Each graduate will be provided a commemorative face mask, but all visitors should come wearing your own mask. The face masks should be worn during the entire time you are in the stadium.
    • Graduates should meet on the multipurpose field and remain six feet apart. You will line up and enter the designated gates to process in from either the visitor or home side (depending on your last name assignment).
    • Guests should enter through the gate associated with the side from which your child will be entering (visitor or home gate). You will know this assignment ahead of time. Upon entering the gate, use the hand sanitizer provided there. Be sure to rub the hand sanitizer vigorously all over your hands until it disappears.
    • Go directly to the bleachers and find a seat. There will be designated seating areas separated into groups of six. At this time, we cannot allow visiting and mingling with those outside your group of six.
    • Maintain a six foot distance at all times between your group and others in the stadium.

    Water fountains will be closed and there are no concessions, so you may want to bring your own water. 

    • After the ceremony, students and visitors should listen carefully and follow the instructions given for exiting the stadium in a manner that will minimize crowding and two way traffic.
    • No one will be allowed to congregate on the field or in other areas of the stadium.

    We want  this to be a happy event for our senior class with these  safety precautions in place! 

  • Will all graduates and attendees be required to wear masks?

    Yes!  Graduates will wear the HTHS 2021 masks provided to them prior to the ceremony.

    All other attendees will be required to provide and wear a mask upon entry into the stadium.

  • Will the principal be handing out diplomas? Will there be hand-shaking?

    Yes, the principal will be handing out the diploma covers but there will be no hand-shaking. 

  • How will my son or daughter receive the actual diploma since it is just the diploma cover given during the ceremony?

    Following the graduation ceremony, students will proceed to the scoreboard end zone where staff members will distribute each student's actual diploma.

  • If we choose not to attend, how will my son or daughter receive his or her diploma?

    Graduates can come to the HTHS counseling office beginning the day after graduation and see the receptionist, Ms. Majors.  The phone number is 228-4026.

  • Will programs be available at the ceremony? If we do not attend the cermony, will we be able to get a copy of the program?

    Programs will be provided at the ceremony.  Also, each graduate will be given a keepsake program that will be a part of their diploma packet.   

  • Will a photographer take photos of my senior on the stage?

    The Principal Portrait Group's photographer will be taking photos of your senior on the stage.  Photos will be uploaded the day after graduation by approximately 12 noon and will be available for viewing and ordering from the following website:  www.huskysports.photoreflect.com

  • Is there a dress code for graduates?

    Yes

    Boys: Dark shoes and socks. NO JEANS. White dress shirt, preferably with a tie. No flip flops or tennis shoes.

    Girls: dress with a hemline that won’t show under the gown. No flip flops. Dark pants with white shirt if not wearing a dress.

    All students:  No decorations on the tops of hats.  Nothing worn on the outside of the graduation gown i.e. around the neck other than school approved stoles and cords.
