Mrs. Jill Greene
Hi! You're visiting the page of the class that could prove to be your favorite in high school!
I'm a hometown girl from Trussville. I graduated from HT in 1988 and went on to pursue a degree in mass communications at Samford University. I had an ambition to travel the world and report the stories from the front lines. Then...I decided a wanted a family. Without cell phones, laptops, wireless or even the internet, my dream of being a journalist didn't seem possible at the time. So, like all good college students do, I changed my major and finished with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in my two favorite subjects, English and psychology. Later, I completed a master's degree in school counseling.
I began teaching at Hewitt-Trussville Junior High School in 1993 and over the past 20+ years, I have taught in Trussville City school system and Jefferson County school system.
I absolutely love what I do. I love teenagers, and I am passionate about the science of psychology. I see it as a part of everyday life. I continuously research and read new articles related to psychology and health.
I have a pretty cool family. I've been married to my husband Eric for 25 years and have three kids. Elijah is a junior at the University of Alabama. Ethan is a freshman at the University of Alabama. Phoebe is a 9th grader here at HTHS.
Supplies for ALL psychology classes
Students are allowed to take notes and keep handouts as they would like. However, I highly suggest an organized binder.
AP students may want to purchase a personal copy of our textbook. Some students prefer to have his/her own book to highlight and take notes in the margins. This is NOT required. You will be issued a book at school. See syllabus for details.
