Board President - Mrs. Kim DeShazo
Mrs. Kim DeShazo was appointed to the Trussville City Board of Education in May 2019. Mrs. DeShazo and her husband, John, have lived in Trussville since 2007. They have three children: Sally, Jed and Ben (all attending TCS schools).
Mrs. DeShazo graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a B.S. in International Business, and followed that up with a law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. Mrs. DeShazo and her husband are both practicing attorneys with the firm Webster, Henry, Bradwell, Cohan, Speagle & DeShazo.
She previously served on the Trussville City Schools Foundation Board from 2017-2019, until she was appointed to the TCS board. Mrs. DeShazo is also a board member of Pathways Professional Counseling and is an active member of First Baptist Church of Trussville, where she and her husband teach a young married couples' Sunday school class. The DeShazos are also active in the foster community, having served as foster parents through Jefferson County DHR.
