TCS - The Trussville City Schools Foundation (TCSF) announced this week that its annual joint fundraiser with the TCS Athletic Foundation raised a record $48,543.61.  The amount raised at "Paws for a Cause" easily tops last year's $35,424.74. Funds raised go toward classroom grants, athletics, and other initiatives supporting TCS students across the K12 spectrum.

Hundreds of supporters attended this year's Paws for a Cause event, held at the Trussville Entertainment District. Live music (homegrown band "Dixie Krystal," a silent auction, and local musical entertainment highlighted the evening.

"Dixie Krystal gave an outstanding concert as the sponsors, ticket holders, and community folks gathered around to celebrate Trussville City Schools and Athletics," TCSF Foundation Executive Director Leslie Armstrong said."I am truly thankful and honored to be part of a Foundation that works so tirelessly for our students and educators and to see the Trussville community share the same goals. Thank you, Trussville, for making this the most successful Paws for a Cause ever!"

From a TCS Foundation standpoint, teachers will be able to apply this fall for grants up to $1,500.00 per classroom to be used for special projects and equipment that will benefit the students beyond the minimum requirements set by the state.

The Trussville City Schools Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to provide financial assistance to all TCS campuses. The Foundation is financially supported by local business sponsors and donations by the citizens of Trussville. The Foundation has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars since its inception.
