TCS - In an effort to help make your Kindergarten student’s school experience the best it can be, we conduct 10-15 minute screenings in the areas of writing, language, literacy, and math.  The data collected will be used by principals to assist in class placement, and your child’s teacher will know which skills are already known and will help guide instruction. This is the same screener that all kindergarten teachers conduct at the beginning of each school year that typically consumes valuable instructional time. There is so much going on at the beginning of Kindergarten, and we feel eliminating one thing for our teachers will be so helpful and allow them to spend more valuable time with your child. 

Here is what you can expect: the screener will be administered by certified teachers and you will be provided data upon completion of the screener.  The screener will be offered in 15-minute increments at the following locations: 

Paine Elementary - July 18 - 20 
Magnolia Elementary - July 21 and July 25 
Cahaba Elementary - July 26 - 27
