(PES) - In honor of Black History Month, each Paine 1st grader researched a famous African-American hero and shared it with their class. Students worked on these pieces in and out of the classroom. A "quilt" of the collective heroes was made and displayed in the hallway.
"They were so excited to research their person and learned so much! We also used Pebblego.com in class to do our own research of all their famous African-American Heroes," 1st grade teacher Mrs. Penny Moore said.
After researching their heroes during class time, each student wrote one fact about that person, explaining the importance and historical significance of their chosen figure.
