PAINE - Paine Elementary School (PES) Art teachers Angela Santiago and Courtney Holland have completed the much-anticipated Sensory Path in the PES courtyard.

The product of a TCSF MUSH Grant, the Sensory Path "...creates an excellent way to improve critical thinking skills while promoting social and emotional learning and growth," according to Mrs. Santiago. Additionally, the Sensory Path playground will offer opportunities to improve gross motor skills, provide brain breaks, and build relationships amongst students.

The kit for the artwork came from the company "The Sensory Path."  This company worked extensively alongside occupational therapists, physical therapists, and autism experts to create stencil packages such as the one at Paine which provide varied sensory opportunities for neurotypical and neurodivergent children.
