A sense of belonging is foundational to learning. Student connection is important to us in Trussville City Schools. Each year, our schools complete the "roster activity" in order to ensure every student is known by at least 5 adults in the building. This allows us to find the students who are not connected to 5 adults and pursue activities that will provide new connections. We host new student events, teacher mentors are assigned, and we find activities that students enjoy to further connect them to others.
Encourage your student to connect through activities, clubs, sports, and other school events.
Our P.A.C.E. framework teaches students personal social skills that will help them with relationships throughout life. These skills are also highly desirable by employers and post secondary opportunities. Our skills for this school year are:
Big 3: Treat others right --Make smart decisions -- Maximize your potential
Trust: Putting your confidence in someone you can depend on
